After a night out celebrating her colleague’s birthday at a local Providence bowling alley, Associate Professor of Chemistry Linda Davis decided to skip her 9am and watch lecture capture just this once. Davis, who has taught Organic Chemistry at Brown for seven years, is known by students to be tough, yet wildly engaging.
“Yeah, she ruined my GPA,” said Adam Stuart, Class of 2021, “But she once set a desk on fire, so that was cool.”
Sophomore Janice Kim, who had to retake Orgo after being failed by Davis last year, said that it is unlike her to miss class: “She’s never even been late before, and I’ve had her twice so I would know. But we’ve all skipped our fair share of classes to watch Lecture Capture in bed, so I honestly can’t blame her.”
Davis, who is expected to return to her normal teaching schedule tomorrow, has declined to comment.
