The royal baby is finally here! After months of having her maternity fashion choices scrutinized, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle welcomed their seven-pound three ounce bundle of joy on the morning of May 6. The little prince made his debut today with his proud parents in St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. And now the highly anticipated moniker of the seventh, that’s right seventh, in line for the royal throne has been revealed. Prince Chaz!
“We were looking for something unique,” Prince Harry said. “Since, I’m not going to be king, and he’s definitely not going to be king, Me and Meghan said sure Chaz sounds cool.”
“It was a tough decision,” the Duchess of Sussex herself said. “We were thinking about Jace. But then we decided what we really wanted to do was honor Harry’s father while also putting out our spin on it. So instead of naming him Charles, we went with the coolest nickname for Charles, which is Chaz.”
According to popular baby naming site, nameberry, the name Chaz means, “free man.” It also means, “most likely to be kicked out of school for hazing and then have his parents buy his way back in.”
UK bookies Ladbrokes had Albert and Philip as the favorite with them both having 12/1 odds. Chaz was the long shot name for sure with 10,000/1 odds. It was reported that only one person even bet on Chaz and it was twenty-two-year-old Jax Anderson, an American college student abroad in London.
“I can’t believe they picked Chaz. I bet that as a joke.” Jax was quoted as saying.
No middle names have been reported but sources have reported that they are considering the name Bowie.
