Jessica Williams, a sophomore who just held a ‘crazy successful’ (her words) clothing sale on the Main Green, is now considering changing her major to Economics.
Once a blissfully ignorant Literary Arts major, Williams has seen the light and the dollar signs and decided that Economics is her calling. The Rib managed to grab her for an exclusive chat in between yelling at passers-by to browse her ‘new stock’ and haggling with her ‘customers.’
‘Business just comes so naturally to me,’ Williams enthused as she palmed a pair of Urban Outfitters jeans off to a freshman for double the retail price. ‘I did Principles of Economics in my freshman Fall, so turning the hours I spent copying my friend’s lecture notes into a profitable enterprise just seemed like the natural next step. Plus, my dad is a Venture Capitalist, and my brother has a subscription to The Economist, so I guess you could say it runs in the family.’
Having recently added ‘entrepreneur’ to her newly created LinkedIn profile, we asked Williams about what lies ahead. She immediately launched into a detailed description of her Five-Year Plan, concluding that she planned to build an ‘empire’, but anticipated having to take a ‘step back’ from her business to apply for investment banking internships next fall.
Jessica was most recently spotted bulk-buying from Savers and hauling a massive coat rack across Ruth Simmons quad.
