A Star is Born

Even though I’m a celebrity now, I’m still the same old Allie Greenberg. My career has taken off after my breakout interview with WJAR NBC 10. The news anchor just stopped me randomly on the street as I was leaving class early – I think she was digging my recently plucked eyebrows. Sure, she first asked two girls before me for an interview, who both politely declined, but that doesn’t take away from my fame.

So yes, you might have seen me tagged in the NBC 10 article on Facebook courtesy of my mother. And yes, it might have gotten around fifteen likes, but I’m not letting this fame change me.

Just because I was on the NBC affiliate for the ENTIRE state of Rhode Island, there is no need to treat me differently. In class now, I have professors calling on me, even when I’m not raising my hand. I have people letting me cut the sandwich line at the Blue Room. Seriously, I can wait with the rest of you. I hate being singled out for my amazing accomplishments. It’s a lot of pressure to live up to my 43 second broadcasted interview.

There I am! Look at me go!

One thing that has changed is that I’m living life a bit in the fast lane. Even though I still wake up at 9 am, I have to grab a granola bar to go just to sit at Starbucks so that I’m ready to sign autographs at any minute. I don’t want to disappoint any of my fans. As a celebrity, I have learned that you always have to keep them in mind. You would be nothing without them. So thank you to you all.

While I’m thanking people, I would also like to thank my parents for making me the humble person that I am today. And I would like to thank the Academy. I’m sorry for stealing the spotlight from you, Leo. The Revenant was great and everything, but I’m a big deal now.
