Hey you! Yes, you!
I know you know what Nostalgia is. That vintage store on Wickenden, right next to Brickway?
Here at Nostalgia, we employ a top-down organization system. That means that each of our three floors gets progressively more chaotic and decrepit as you work your way down. On our third floor you can find stunning antiques, and in our basement you can find a collection of broken sunglasses or a Beanie Baby that used to live in the mouth of a golden retriever who’s been dead for a decade.
That’s right! We’re a glorious beacon of object diversity; the finest in all of Providence! And our favorite clientele are none other than the students of Brown University, who turn to us for retail therapy when all the CAPS appointments are booked.
But what about those Brown Students looking to make some cash instead of spending it? Well, Nostalgia can help with that too! To spark some hunter-gatherer inspiration, here are examples of six items you might find outside Brown University’s Keeney Quad on a Sunday morning that you can sell to Nostalgia (and where in the store we might put it)!
1: A bottle of Coors Light
Super cute as a flower vase! Nostalgia would love to buy this from you for $17 for our collection of empty glass bottles and jars in the basement.
2: A broken bottle of Coors Light
Place those shards in a glass jar and voila! An art installation worthy of at least 22 bucks! Talk about top floor material.
3: A sateen scrunchy
If you remove the long blonde strands, we will happily take it for our accessories section on the ground floor. Smells like Pantene shampoo and $18 to me!
4: A single Air Force One
Paint it pink and call it 55 dollar decor. We’ll lovingly display it on the middle floor, back behind the changing rooms.
5: A gold locket
Sure, Emma’s grandma left it to her in her will. And, sure, it has photos of her Maltipoos, Honey and Gwen, in it. But take those pics out and we can sell it in our fancy jewelry case on the top floor for 60 bucks! Or better yet: Keep the photos in it. We’ll sell that for $75! #authentic
6: A Brown ID
This is a truly priceless find. Sell it to Nostalgia and we’ll display it in the window so that one lucky customer can get instant access to all that the dining halls have to offer.
So there you have it. Six items you might find outside Keeney Quad and can sell to Nostalgia for a couple extra dollars.
Get that coin, girly!
